Regarding zlib devel dependency

Hello,

  I am trying to get sitecopy package into official fedora package DB
and while building am confused about whether I need zlib-devel
package.
  Skimming through configure script and changelog.CVS it looks like
"zlib not supported". Does this mean code base does not use zlib
anymore?

 Today, I will dig further to see if I really need it. :) It would be
great if I get some confirmed reply here!
